Joe Black was born in the summer of 1979, with Zimbabwe on the verge of total independence. Having missed the dreaded ‘born-free’ tag by mere months, he proceeded to grow into a fine upstanding citizen of the new democracy. Not.
You may be surprised at the colours! I haven't converted to Old Hararians - I remain a Harare Sports Club man. I'd lost a bet to the OH coach, so we had to change for a while. Now I kinda like it ...

is that what u do JB hmmmm???
August 28th, 2008 at 14:09 pm
oh, the sleaziness of it all…
August 28th, 2008 at 14:20 pm
Lol no, I don’t do it, my point here is that Facebook is so stupid, and some people on Facebook are so stupid, that this is possible.
The sleaze, the sleaze. It takes the mystery out of meeting people, which is something I’m looking to rediscover.
Which explains my recent anti-FB stance. It’s stupid.
August 28th, 2008 at 15:09 pm
Dude your love hate relationship with FB needs to stop already!
August 28th, 2008 at 15:33 pm
There’s no love there, Vim! It’s a necessity. Like … ZBC news. Goalkeepers. Tampons. Life would be so much better without it, but somehow it wouldn’t be the same.
August 28th, 2008 at 22:40 pm
Umm? Tampons? Interesting that life would be so muchbetter without them. I am guessing you are talking from a male perspective here. Without them you would’t have to go buy them for your girl.
ANYWAY, on the FB sleaze front, some could say one is being very resourceful. Last I checked, resourcefulness was a good thing.
Juuuust playing Devil’s advocate here. And I get your point, you think ‘Facebook is stupid’. But I missed the arguments for it. Because, as far as I know, Facebook is only as stupid as the people who use it.
August 29th, 2008 at 00:36 am
in total agreement Tara
JB stop taking that shit seriously- get what you want out of it and stop participating (and bitching) about the rest
August 29th, 2008 at 07:00 am
Lol, and Alias resurfaces from the sea of drink and debauchery!
Facebook is stupid, because it makes us all stupid. We end up believing that just by reading a status update and commenting on a photo we’ve actually interacted with someone.
No. Do it in person. Make a phone call. Pay a visit. Have a drink. Don’t … dedicate a song or challenge a vampire or whatever the fuck you do these days.
August 29th, 2008 at 09:16 am
facebook doesn’t make you stupid, creepin on ex girlfriends using facebook makes you stupid. Joe as much as I would love to meet you at the Scud and Nancy it simply ain’t gonna happen this Friday mate. You happen to have this shiny green outlet for online communiques but most don’t. I check the book maybe once a week but I can, when I choose, keep in contact with my social diaspora that way. I’m no big fan but it serves a purpose without me having to pay shit. nevermind…
August 29th, 2008 at 09:18 am
Okay, I hear you but my point is this: some people tend to use writing on someone’s FB wall as an excuse for making real contact. Like, I haven’t seen you in ages. Really? I wrote on your wall.
What the hell.
August 29th, 2008 at 09:23 am
*sigh* The Independent gets in on the act …
SELECTORS have ring changes to the Zimbabwe Board XI cricket side for the second four-day match against the Pakistan Cricket Academy starting at Harare Sports Club today.
August 29th, 2008 at 10:32 am

August 29th, 2008 at 10:39 am
Eish, do you really think I read the rest of the story after that rousing first sentence? Lol.
August 29th, 2008 at 10:54 am
lol
August 29th, 2008 at 16:55 pm
And McCain picks a woman as his running mate. Won’t do you no good, my china.
August 29th, 2008 at 18:06 pm
Actually, I admire McCain for doing it. Granted, it ain’t gonna do him any good, but strategically, it makes sense. Very brave for a republican and kinda upstages BO reminding the potential voter of the fact that BO didn’t choose Hill. And, as they are saying, a woman was named in a desperate effort to offset Obama’s blackness.
Hey, I find myself thinking that Obama will be President. But, wait, yeah, I remember now, I was sure America would not be dumb enough to re-elect Dubya. Boy, was I wrong. Yep, McCain will win.
JB, (*SIGH* shaking head very sadly) you know, your latest FB status update leaves a lot to be desired.
August 30th, 2008 at 00:31 am
The ‘problem’ with you JB is that you are an intellectual and you refuse to give all the ignoramuses out there their due worth. Time and time again people, and not just the dumbericans, have proven how dumb they truly are. And like Tara said, you are trying to reason for an electorate that gave us Dubya. Twice.
I think McCain’s choice was a question of ‘any woman will do’, which smacks of desperation. But a month is a lifetime in politics let alone the next 2 as everyone steps into gear 5.
August 30th, 2008 at 08:53 am
So basically, your premise is that people are dumb, and they’ll do dumb shit no matter what the GLARING NEON SIGNS in front of their noses say? That’s uber depressing.
Tara, my FB status does not require your approval to be, lol. I lurve it. But really? McCain will win? Really?
August 30th, 2008 at 09:01 am
And by the way, how does that Palin woman feel to be just a token? Like a quota player, she’s an AA pick chete. Lol.
August 30th, 2008 at 18:09 pm
Hahaha true that JB… I wonder if those 18 million Hillary Clinton voters will back here beoz she also wears a skirt .. Ko JB maInterback games how far?

August 31st, 2008 at 12:55 pm
Your Dynamos didn’t exactly fare too well against Al-Ahly. Champions League yavaramba Dembare.
September 1st, 2008 at 00:26 am
JB don’t sleep on Palin. you seen how this woman holds a gun. I tell you she can hold her own.
September 1st, 2008 at 07:09 am
Yeah, Dynamos caught it. We tried though, and that’s generally enough for me, yeah?
As for Palin, interesting new rumour. Apparently, regarding this new baby of hers in diapers …
- no-one, not even her staff, ever noticed her pregnancy
- a 44-yr-old woman just into the governorship with 4 grown kids getting prego again? Unlikely
- her teenage daughter was taken out of school for 6 months prior to the birth
… this is gonna be fun!
September 1st, 2008 at 11:18 am
Nice! Been too long since the days of Monica.
September 1st, 2008 at 12:23 pm
Yeah, nothing like a good scandal. And if this one’s not true, there’s always the one about how she tried to get her sister’s ex-husband fired from his job …
September 1st, 2008 at 12:52 pm
As coach I take all the blame. To make me feel happy I followed black to a seedy pub and stole his phone
