Meet Joe Black...

Joe Black was born in the summer of 1979, with Zimbabwe on the verge of total independence. Having missed the dreaded ‘born-free’ tag by mere months, he proceeded to grow into a fine upstanding citizen of the new democracy. Not.

What The Hell...

You may be surprised at the colours! I haven't converted to Old Hararians - I remain a Harare Sports Club man. I'd lost a bet to the OH coach, so we had to change for a while. Now I kinda like it ...

Music for your soul

So my mate Dean Rusere has a new mixtape out, and it’s awesome.

Takes me back to the old days, when life was simple and inflation was just a chapter in a ZJC Commerce text-book. When Pine Nut was the drink and Lunch Bars were currency.

When my school blazer was my most valuable possession, and the Eversharp 15M was the most valuable tool, whether writing or rewinding. When chicks were gullible and “grabbing” was the ultimate pleasure.

Those were the days, and school discos wouldn’t have been the same without this music, the music of my youth, which ultimately became the soundtrack of my life.

If you’re a teenager of the nineties, download  DJ Dean Soulism Volume 2. If not, I promise it will make you feel good.

And you won’t be reaching for that Eversharp.

Shaa, my browser keeps blocking access ‘403- Forbidden’. Can you send it to me in any other format, remembering that I am no tecchie and it has to be kept very very basic. And oh, my OS is in Japanese and I can’t read a word of it.

  2. Joe Black Says:

Okay, fixed the link. Now it goes direct to Sendspace and you click on the download link from there.

Why do you have a Japanese OS? Dumb-ass.

Sticks and stones, bra, sticks and stones. And yes, I am a bit of a dumbass but the computer was cheap and I am yet to find anyone I can hoodwink into getting me a free upgrade to an English OS

    HERALD!!! HERALD!!! CATTLE HEAD!!!

“The waiter told us that on Fridays we could come back for the ever popular “Musoro we mombe” (cattle head).”

Eish. Listened to the mixtape. Inga. Had no idea how much difference a five year age gap makes. The music is very, hauntingly, familiar, but I can’t quite place it. The music of my youth was very much different. I had gangsta rap and RNB and we were just waving goodbye to the butterfly, and hello to the the gangsta walk or some such nonsense. It didn’t make sense, but that’s just how we (had to) rolled.

    Shame girl, you missed out.
