Something’s fecking fishy

Lately I’ve spending lots of time listening to the radio, and can’t help noticing something on DeadBC news lately.

“His Excellency President Robert Gabriel Mugabe, head of state and government, Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, and …”

Hold on, hold the feck on just a fecking minute. Head of state AND government?

I though the whole theory of this political mish-mash we call a GNU was that RGM becomes head of state, while MT effectively becomes head of government?

Has something changed? I guess a dissolution of this bullshit collective may be too much to hope for just yet, but something’s definitely amiss.

Or is this just another case of ‘damn lies’ from the State Media? My gosh, I miss the Daily News.

feck this shit.

  1. I reckon it could be a simple case of bad grammar. They must be inhaling at the wrong time. Maybe what they mean to say is

β€œHis Excellency President Robert Gabriel Mugabe – head of state, and Government-Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, and …”

    Just sayin!:-)

  2. there are signs in the studio to remind peeps about that. the reason why there is the whole hullabaloo is that Morgan went and saw various heads of government. the herald of absolute honesty even had one caption that said – Morgan Tsvangirai with his British Counterpart Gordon Brown. That caused a stink. much ado about nothing and at the end of the day Arthur is still a turtle post.

  3. MT was never head of governement under the GNU. Bob retained that position which is why he chairs the cabinet. MT is only the head of the “council of ministers”. God knows what real purpose it serves.

  4. My question is this; were we expecting any better? And if so, why? Has a leopard ever changed its spots? Has a crocodile ever changed its scales? Has a … anyway.

  5. @Anon – NNNNOOOOIIIICCCEEE!!!

JB, you called me a neo-DM-prophet-of-doom when I posed the same question… Well, it was prophet-of-doomish…but…

  6. OI!!! Leave bottles out of it, what have they ever done to you?

Well, I guess it all starts with hope, then hope turns to frustration, frustration to despair, despair to anger, anger to confrontation, confrontation to revolution. Revolution to emancipation, emancipation to hope …
